Mother's Day wishlist // five favorites
My love language is gift giving, and of course also gift receiving. I have no reason to compile this list other than that desire, plus the desire to share with you a bunch of stuff that's been sitting in my various carts across the internet, waiting for me to click purchase...which will probably never happen.
Anyway, onto the consumerism! (Too tongue in cheek? Oops.) Some Amazon affiliate links ahead.
1.
Woman of the House shirt by Chris Loves Julia's ProperTee
Chris and Julia are some of my favorite DIY/home bloggers, and they just launched a tshirt line on Amazon and it's SO cute. This one is my favorite of the ones they have out so far, but all of them are adorable. Plus it's pretty much my life motto, so I'm putting this at the top of my wishlist for a reason. (Ahem, David, ahem.) Plus Prime shipping if you procrastinate! ;)
2.
Linen pompom pillow cases on Etsy
You really can't go wrong with pretty much anything on Etsy, as it's guaranteed to be unique and mostly handmade. These pillow cases are so beautiful and I have no need to buy them but they've been in my cart forever. There's something that feels so fancy about linen things, and these definitely are included.
3.
Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey
If your wife/mom is a space-obsessed nerd like me, and she loves reading, she will absolutely love this book series. Get her this first book, which is the same series I've been obsessing about on this blog for like 6 months now, and then shut her in a room by herself for a few hours as part of the gift (or better yet, out the door of the house). She'll be engrossed and want the next 6 books, so that's a fair warning...worth it nonetheless!
It's too bad David can't repurchase this for me, because it would quickly become one of my all-time favorite gifts. Oh, and I just started the first season of the TV show based on the books -- and it's also good, so like...triple win.
4.
Organic cotton camis from Target
Okay, I have to confess -- I just got some more of these for myself, because they've quickly become my favorite thing to wear, but I realize not everyone wears a cami every day of their life. But these are SO soft, and made of organic fair-trade cotton, and you can get them at Target, so I couldn't not mention them. They're so nice! Perfect long length for my insanely long torso, built-in shelf bra, and crazy soft.
5.
Pressed flower art on Etsy
My favorite thing to search for on Etsy besides linen stuff is pressed flower art. I know that I could in theory make one myself, but they are just SO beautiful and totally unnecessary and lovely so I can't resist. This witchgrass one is gorgeous but there are hundreds of types of flowers on there, so take your pick.
-----------
I've been trying harder to shop local and shop small when I can, so if none of those ideas suit your fancy, find a store near you and get a gift card to it for whatever your mom likes. It's sure to be a win.
And Happy Mother's Day early to all the mamas out there, whether physical or spiritual. Your work is hard and necessary and underappreciated. I'm praying especially for you all in the next few weeks.
Since I ended up with five things, I'm linking up with Ashley over at Big White Farmhouse. Head there to see more five favorite posts! :)
